Doubtful Valve will ever change that out of free will. They're completely in the "always up-to-date" camp.

If you don't like that, best to use platforms that utilise other update schemes, OP.

do you play all the games stored on your hard drive that your getting updates for...

these days i let steam do the storage and only get updates for what i am playing..

seems to work well...
