Yes of course. I switched to Windows 10 on release day and did the same for Windows 11.
As you can see i have a few thousand games and so far, after using Windows 11 for about 8 months now, i did not encounter a game yet that ran on Windows 10 but not on 11.

Windows 11 is 90% identical to Windows 10 anyway, its mainly Quality of Life and cosmetic improvements.
So there is no reason not to upgrade if you want to, if not you can also just stay on Windows 10 for now.
Its your choice.

Whatever runs on Win10, runs on Win11.

I have seen a thread not long ago of somebody saying after updating to 10, over half of their games stopped working, and after updating to 11, only a few would still work. I guess they could have tried to run them in compatibility mode, but I never had to do that myself on Windows 7.

If most of the games you own are modern, there's no problem to update from 10 to 11, elsewise I'd suggest trying out Linux. Linux can run Windows games via Wine.

Sounds more like something went wrong with the upgrade or they missed some important drivers or libraries.

Or they just flat out lied. Personally speaking, I had more issues with compatibility going from XP to Vista and 7. When I went from 7 to 10, I had zero issues with every single game, save one in my Steam library that wouldn't launch for some reason. It wasn't that big of a deal as it was just a little HO game that I had already completed at that point. At some point I plan on looking into the issue to fix it, but it's not that big a deal to me. I haven't gone to 11 yet, but plan on an upgrade of my 10 laptop shortly. I don't anticipate any issues with it.

Honestly, its VERY similar to Windows 10. Its mostly cosmetic changes like the taskbar orientation and the menus having different designs and such.
You get used to it after a week or so.

Performance wise its the same as Windows 10 i would say, on the desktop and in games.
Did not run in any issues with games yet but did not play much old stuff since switching to 11.
For some games like Fallout 3 GOTY i had to use some fan patches and ini edits but i already had to do that on Windows 10 and 7 before that because that game has problems on anything above Windows XP.

So overall, apart from the graphical design and UI not much different then previous versions.
And there are skins you can install if you want to have it look more like Win 10 or 7.

Any time you do an in-place upgrade make sure you have the latest vendor provided drivers or else you could get dodgy Microsoft Update drivers.
everything i set up in 10 carried over to 11

for instants i had copied control panel task manager and file explorer
along with my main programs to the taskbar and nothing changed... i was impressed...

Windows 10 and 11 are basically the same, only major difference that is noticeable is the user interface, when I wanted to trial run it during its insider stage, I just stuck with it until release which is when I opted out of insider.
