Developers aren't forced to make games for a certain OS. They will generally gravitate to the ones that have the most support and tools to make games.
If someone wanted to, they could release a game on Steam that only supports Linux and Valve wouldn't for them to change it.
MINIMUM:
OS:Windows 7 SP1 (64bit)
That's Arma 3 in the store. Why isn't Valve putting at least in bold letters, that the game (and likely thousands of others) are not gonna be supported in a few months in that section of the specifications?
I mean it seems to me, and i cited others on other threads, Steam is pushing the boundaries, on many issues. And so, the fact Valve is again being sued, is yet again, no surprise.
So, take the Win 7 out the specification, being it's not going to be supported. That wouldn't be a legal issue necessarily (key word) btw, just basic common sense and common courtesy on behalf of Valve.
The person looking to buy the game, not getting snookered or any reasonable reason they can. There may be people, who may see the banner atop, but figure, well, that's Steam, not my game. My game supports Win 7 per the specs, and so, i just click on the shortcut, and my game will play. Nope.
Win7 games can be played on Win10 so it will still be supported. They also do have a giant banner, it's right at the top of your client. It even has a countdown.
What they are being sued for has no bearing on dropping Win7 as you've been told multiple times.
Well, accordingst to world stats, 3.6% of users still use Win 7. Thats tens of millions of people. Many businesses, home use, and here. Valve may have their own stats, but to say they're doing much better than the whole of the wold, is a stretch.
Conservatively speaking, we can have 2 million or more users here, having access to buy games that will not be supported in just a few months. And so, a small token, would be to, maybe, take the Win 7 specs, out the store, months ago.
On purpose.
