Steam Deck EA App Woes
It looks like EA fixed their app to work offline on windows based systems but it doesn't work offline on the Steam Deck. "No internet connection... play a game you have installed" or something to that effect.

I think it works by pointing to a specific directory with the games that are installed on the system, but it is entirely windows based and does not seem to want to recognize the file paths used by the Steam OS. Does anyone know of a way to get either get the EA app to recognize the Steam OS file path to the installed games or where I would need to install the games to in order to get the EA app to read that they're installed?

Nobody knows. I cant even play mass effect legendary edition cause the app crashes on start. Steam doesnt seem to give a damn about the issue. Just request a refund. And stay far away from any EA games.

This is not an issue Valve can solve. Go bug EA about it.

Nobody was asking Valve to fix it but thank you for bumping my post, anyway.

I haven't been able to get the EA app on my Deck at all. It simply won't install when I launch any game and it simply spits out a generic error that doesn't tell me anything. I haven't been able to find a fix anywhere, even though other people appear to be playing their games just fine on their Decks.

I'd honestly advise against buying any EA games to play on the Deck at this point. It's a gamble whether it's going to work or not and you're stuck with a digital paperweight if not.

I had a lot of trouble and grief with getting my EA games to play on Deck.

Steam Support was useless.

EA Support was even more useless.

Ultimately, what fixed it for me was taking these steps:

I uninstalled the EA games and deleted the developer proton files for each one I had installed.

Went to the EA website and unlinked my Steam account.

I then did a fresh install of one of my EA games. After launch, I put in my info and selected to link my EA & Steam accounts when prompted.

After this I was able to play all my EA games no problem on Deck, through Steam and with Steam playtime & Steam achievements.

This may or may not work for you but it was the only thing that worked for me.
