I got hacked and people sold and bought my steam cards/ Fui hackeado y randoms vendieron y compraron mis cromos de steam
I'm mad as hell, I just received tons of emails about that i sold cards and that i even bought another. I didn't do anything of that since I want to have what i got and that's it. Basically it seems some chinese mfs and other people hacked me or some. Idk what to do to get my cards back, I already reported everyone of them, worst thing is that some innocent people bought them too. If someone knows what can I do please tell me. Sorry if I made a mistake, i'm not a native speaker.

Your account is compromised. There is nothing you can do but report the scammer. None of your items will be returned to you.

Your account was hijacked because you gave away your account login info somewhere.

The leaking of account login information is the only way that Steam accounts are hijacked.

you were hacked NOT hijacked

What's the difference? I'm not an english native speaker so I don't actually know what is hijacked. Can you tell me?

I didn't even login in pirate games webs or some so idk, isn't there a way they could stole my information without me writing it down somewhere?

You can ignore post #3

Even Valve uses the word hijacked.

Hacking is when someone forces their way into your account. This is not possible. No one can brute force their way into your account. The account was hijacked meaning, you used your login info somewhere.

Ignore every post by guyver he's a banned troll.

you were hacked not hijacked your original post was right

I mean I'm 100% sure that I never ever wrote my info in any other site more than here and the mobile app so I still believe I was hacked. I guess it's just bad luck idk
For example: friend account could be compromised.

Here are steps to secure your account:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

The moment you follow a link you can end up on a phishing site that looks exactly like the real one. That's why its so important to type the address yourself, or if you want a trustworthy link use wikipedia.
Always confirm the site you are on. Never trust a link. Especially with things related to monetary value.

A lot of victims here think they have used the official login. But in reality it was all fake. So how do you know it was a Valve Corp site?

As I said, I never logged with my account in a browser. Only in the PC and phone app

people say this over and over, I used to subscribe to this idea too but in some rare case not really. We should give people benefit of the doubt. I mean my brother got his account hacked when the only one who knows his account credentials is him. Also works on startup company as cyber security technician, so I highly doubt he's stupid enough to fall for phising attempt. Luckily he got his account hacked in the middle of tf2 match so he immediately notice and got his account recovered pronto and since his account only has cards as tradeable the loss is no big deal. The hacker managed to disable his steam guard too.

Anyways OP just contact steam support and hope for the best. Although as others says they most likely won't return the item to you.

Him being the only one who knows the account credentials is not the issue. The point is his account was hijacked because he gave away those account credentials in some way. This is the only way that Steam accounts are hijacked, not hacked. Steam Guard does not get just magically disabled. It does no good to have Steam Guard if you give the thief the keys to the house.

Steam Support won't do anything except help him recover the account If he doesn't have control of it. They will not restore any items that were stolen or taken. This has been the policy since 2015. So contacting Steam Support trying to recover your items, is pointless.

Steam Support does not restore items that have left accounts for any reason, including trades, market transactions, deletions, or gifting.

It is your responsibility to secure your Steam account. To quickly make trades or sales on the Market, your account must be protected by a Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator.

Until you or your relative got hacked when you already secure your account anyways, you will keep parroting that. I sure did until it happened to my brother.

Also I think your argument is idiotic on the steam guard. You normall only able to disable steam guard if you have the physical phone. It's there as your second key. Hence the word 2 factor authentication. Password is something you know, your phone is something you have. Since the account is breached even with steam guard enabled in his phone pretty sure it's hacker. because the second key is managed to be bypassed. It's like if a thief only have one key to a two key vault. The other key is lockpicked even if we assume my brother password was shared

Anyways just continue being steam white knight. I'm sure the moderators appreciate your service.
