Regional price
The prices for steam games in South Asia vary depending on the country. It appears that countries like Bangladesh have their own separate USD prices, but as someone in Maldives, I have noticed that we pay the same as American prices. This raises the question as to why Maldives is not included in the South Asia region with the other countries who do not have their own currency, and instead pay the same as Americans. It would be fair if Maldives was also included in the South Asian USD prices like other countries without their own currency.

prices are set by that games developer, not steam. if you have complaints about how games are priced, take it up with the game developer

Prices have already been set for South Asia region. Problem is our country(Maldives also in South Asia region) is not included in South Asia region by steam.

Because South Asia officially includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Regional price still quite not balanced in a lot countries and I don't think it could be fixed entirely..
And since Valve price recommendation exists, most of developers would just adjust their game regional price based on those suggestions, I feel like if Valve tries to recommend prices in Maldives fairly this problem could be temporarily solved because then developers would follow Valve's suggestion like usual.

For Myanmar, they set US region prices despite being our country being way worse off too

And don't expect it to change anytime soon.

Regional prices aren't necessarily to alleviate your economic hardships, or get you cheap games. Users seem to want to treat them that way, and yes lower prices does seem to be common side effect. But ultimately regional prices are there to give publishers some flexibility in pricing, not solely to sell games for pennies on the dollar to dirt poor countries.

Please delete your post, for some ridiculous reason it is indexed in first place by Google for South Asia Steam and is misleading people. The South Asia region on Steam includes only Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
