Famous people not wanting to show the masses their stuff is pretty common.
With the games it is far more easy to explain..... they don't want people to stalk them if they play outside of their Streams etc.... If they not may have a totally different Account for that.
Still. I wonder why C418 wouldn't want to show his 1,000 games. 🤔 that's more of a flex.
We look at these people with account worth's over $20K... Where are the hackers? I can see the scammers just fine...
Not much of a "flex". My account worth is nearly $30K, now THAT is a flex..,
Or shear stupidity on my part. 🙃
Unfortunately, we'll never know if thats true :(
And what I mean by famous is literally C418, C418 literally made the music for minecraft, it has millions of streams on spotify.
Pewdiepies steam profile is private too.
As for the inventory, valuable stuff will always attract scammers.
i did tell steam support about the accounts, if you can find the open moderator profile you can review how half the moderator accounts are now deleted.
it comes down to slowly weeding out the corrupted and exposed moderator accounts that are actually plauging the forum with excessive banning and content locks.
its actually pretty serious and its been going on a for a while.
so if your asking why you should make your account private its to protect the friends on your steam account.
i have reviewed quiet a few steam profiles which most have comments from friends, who link with other friends who i have all found out to be in the same corrupt circle of people.
so you can imagine how easy it is to identify these groups of bad actors, they always show up in the forums together as well.
really steam should do something about it, and hopefully they will. eventually , maybe steam is just hoping they will slip up and it can get them all , but some how i doubt steam even cares.
the forums main content is so small as a forum user i can clearly see it, so i imagine a forum moderator knows exactly what is going on , they simply choose to attack the innocent because the guilty and corrupt is a friend.
Hope none of my friends are bad actors.
Also, should I make my friends list private?
Nah, only if you wanna dogpile on people and make it look like you don't know each other.
A common tactic around here.
Or they could have their own reasons for not wanting to divulge that information or inventory information such as scammers etc. I'd imagine 'fame' would increase the attempts at phishing, scamming, begging, coat tail riding, stalking and the like. For myself as a regular layman, I keep my inventory private because there's no real benefit for me in it being public. Game's I leave public, because some sites I use reference that data. Not much more to it than that for me.
I think youve already had your answer which begs the question whats the point of this post, how do you benefit from it besides what people think rather than know ?
