Steam update broke everything
first i had the stupid chinese bug and now that is fixed this new update has completely broken controller support for me. when i hit a button all kinds of crazy things happen. either minimizing the game, taking a screenshot, pulling up the keyboard, attempting to copy and paste things. I have no clue how to fix this. I just want to be able to use a controller again. I've never had complaints about steam updates but the last few have been a nightmare

i forgot to note that contacting support doesnt work either for me right now because it cant gather system info which is required to send in a ticket.
if the last few updates are a sign of the future of steam it is quickly going downhill

sounds like your usb port is bugged. if your controller is causing random things to happen on the desktop then you might have a usb driver issue.

I can confirm, something is broken on beta with controller. With steam closed i tested my xbox controller and all buttons works fine. With steam its crazy, taking screenshots, minimizing windows, pulling up keyboard. Yesterday it was working fine.

Try this: Settings > Controller > Guide Button Chord Layout > Edit Layout, and then in every section, Buttons, DPad, Triggers and Joysticks, disable whatever command it is doing.

Yes. Since maintenance of steam servers last night my account got hijacked and stolen from, managed to recover my account but steam doesn't care about anything else. I've started a discussion on Steams support practises

I'm having this issue too, with controller inputs suddenly activating random things. It worked fine yesterday.

I tried this beforehand but unfortunately it did nothing for me, which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid as I even disabled the whole thing altogether... :/

I tried that too but it didn't work. Curiously, looking at the "test inputs" part shows many of the inputs being held down randomly without me even touching the controller. Whatever they did really has broken it. :\ I've dropped out of the beta Steam client and it's back to working properly now.
