Worst case scenario is your account get hijacked and you not only lose all your items and Steam wallet, but access to your account. There are guides on how to secure your account, I suggest you follow one and stay away from those third party sites in the future.

I cannot fathom giving that much money to some shady skin site. Just...wow.
I think a lot of these sites try and maintain an air of validity by doing some degree of honest business. They'll pick one rich target to scam, and when they complain you have an army of other users who say "It works fine for me. IDK what to tell you."
It's like running a restaurant where every 10th customer gets mugged.
