Controller settings - No controllers detected

I plugged in PS3 controller, installed the driver, so I can see it in Win10 Device Manager, it says it should work well. I go to Steam´s own Controlled Settings, and there it says NO CONTROLLERS DETECTED. I don´t know what to do now.

I tried the Online Controller tester websites also, they say the same, no controllers detected.

The controller is connected with mini-USB, and its lights are blinking (as a sign of charging, as it also has the bluetooth option).

EDIT: In Device Manager it shows PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller. For extra I used (as recommended on some website) ScpToolkit which installed the Xbox controller driver for this controller (which it recognized). In the end ScpToolkit, operation succesful and that I could start to play now...

other topic told "Install PSNow, it brings the driver. After uninstalling SCP of course. " so I did that but I don´t understand. The installed software is PlayStation Plus (not PSNow, what the download file told)... and it´s some platform for games, nothing about "ps3 controller driver for pc"

you might be better off in the - hardware and OS discussion forum...
they helped me with a xbox problem a while back...

have you looked at any youtubes relating to your controller model...
i have always found that helpful too as it can add to how you ask
for help..

ok, thanks. i have watched and tried different solutions 2 hours, and it made me nervous, stressed and frustrated because nothing really worked as those tutorials told, so I decided to write to this forum.

i have seen that link tutorial already. if you don´t have own experience from this subject, I don´t think you can really help.

you are right... i have had trouble with xbox controllers from
3rd party vendors... 3 were refunded back at the store i got them from
after gamepad tester confirmed they were faulty...


after doing a few ps3 seachers.... i trust pcgamer the most...
and dont recommend downloading stuff from non trusted or obscure links
