DirectX 11 on Debian
I'm on Debian 11 steam, and I turned on experimental proton to play windows games, but most of the ones I've tried have asked for me to install DirectX 11. What do I do, can I install DirectX, or do I have to do something else?

If it is a Steam game then DirectX runtimes should install in the Wine prefix used to run the game. This installs the optional, legacy helper libraries, but the low level DirectX 11 is implemented in Vulkan using DXVK.

If your system supports OpenGL but not Vulkan, you will have to use the following launch options:

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

In which case add that line to the Launch Options in your game's properties.

Note that to emulate DirectX 11 you do need OpenGL 4.x.
