You can see your points there, on top right side.

https://store.steampowered.com/points/shop/

You can't sell points.

Go to the Points store, it'll tell you how many you have in there. You can't sell them.

If anyone is claiming to be selling Steam points, they're probably a scammer

That person was either wrong ot confused. You can sell trading cards or items earned in some games. You can't sell Steam points or the items from the point shop, those are not linked in any way to the Steam market.

I'll give you 120 Duckbucks for your points
OP is probably talking about this Thread: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/0/3114770913766882229/

OP of that Thread was wondering why a certain person has so many awards (there were indeed a lot of awards shown), and was wondering if he maybe paid people to give him awards.

Which I guess is technically possible, but of course that just screams for getting your money stolen. Also, if you really wanted to do this you could just make a new account, buy stuff and award yourself.

Anyway: you cant straight up sell Steam Points as already pointed out.

you could tell people to send you stuff you can sell on the market...
and you will award them in awards on a post or profile
and be open to the risk of being scammed...

your probably better off seeking professional/medical help
for buying addictions/gambling or something along those lines..

Lmao there always will be supply and demand for everything including steam points, it's not that deep.

Not all people who buy awards pursue fake fame based on the number of awards and likes, they may want one or two animated .gifs to personalize their profile. and I did my share of trust-based trades with other users and honestly the trading scene is not that bad. of course you will be exposing yourself to a potential scam but the actual amount of scammers and bad actors are almost nonexistent. I've seen people offering trades that's too good to be true, and people impersonating reputable traders but they can be avoided as long as you keep your guard and stay rational.

still very shallow.... but not a bad thing...

there are people on steam that do have addictions to buying and
gambling and gaining points and selling stuff to buy more stuff which are all interlinked....

this maybe unlike the possibly controlled/reserved way
you experience and operate on steam...

True, there are people like that, I myself for one really should stop accumulating digital licenses I will never end up playing, but saying to seek medical help for gambling and addiction to such a simple question like this is bit... It's just, I think you were too quick to jump to a conclusion, there's no sign saying that OP is one of those people.

LOL... dont look at is as a conclusion..its not.... it is meant to be a bit humorous
in the outlandishness of what i am saying....

but it is more a global evaluation of the problematic
extremes on steam that are here on steam...

play games have fun... is what a lot of us do...
- in amongst those with problematic addictions that really should seek assistance...
