my internet keeps disconecting when i download a game?
So when I try to download a game on steam my internet starts to work slow to stop working. Like 1-3 minutes. so i have to disconnect my wifi or unplug my wifi usb, and then reconnect so i can continue downloading the game for 3 more minutes, but again it automatically disconnects. this also happens with epic games

In order to diagnose the issue, I think you'd have to be able to connect your computer to your modem/router with an Ethernet cable. If the download issue continues to happen while wired, it's an issue with the modem/router or your Internet Service Provider.

If the issue doesn't happen while connected via Ethernet, then it's probably a problem with the USB wireless adapter you're using. Perhaps overheating or something more technical.

Had this problem running Steam on Linux, games would start downloading normally then gradually slow and stop. Had to restart my PC to get it going again.

In my case the solution was to disable IPv6 support in the wifi network adaptor. Could try that and see if it works for you.

tried al that, dont work. and no my usb doesnt overheat, i think that maybe the reason is because when i try to download something on internet its stops working, this also happends with chrome when i download something like 700mb. but if is something small like 20mb i think that i dont have this probleam

So you're either looking at some broken (or more like "lazy") hardware that stops working when there's a lot of stuff to do, or an ISP that doesn't like you doing downloads...

Is it just "the wifi" that dies, or the internet? You should be able to see that on the router.

As a quick band aid, try limiting the download speed in the Steam client to something significantly lower than your actual download speed.

my wifi works fine because when i use my phone to connect to my wifi router works very well. but my usb wifi no, but maybe its because its not so compatible with that wifi. and idk why when i use other phone that has the habilitie to share conection and i am conected to my wifi house using that phone. i use my pc to connect to that phone internet and it works fine. i know my english is crap but i tried my best

have you tried limiting your download speed in the launcher as steam and epic by default will take all your speed to the limit, as they will saturate your speed to the fullest causes a slower wifi card to be over worked or 2 causing other utilities like video loading and browsing to skip/fail to load. 3: check task manager and see when it happens if your hdd/ssd or cpu spike to 100% usage. another thing to try is opening device manager go to universal serial bus controller then generic usb hub and usb root hub for usb 3.0 right click them properties power managment then turn off allow the computer to turn off devices to save power, as some devices may be micro shuting off this happens on windows 11 quite alot but is subjected to any os.
