We are.
The other part of the question is not just
the part where assaulting older users is?
But also wanting change in steam that older users don't like.
Because older Users such as myself would prefer steam
in 2016, then to use steam in it's current status today. Maybe
not everyone is disgusted by steam today, but people like
myself is entirely disgusted with it.
Young people have it wrong that the elderly are usually more independent and no family will chase them away to sleep xD. If we are talking toxic people then they will be in the young age group and older people it doesn't matter at all, because invading for age alone is stupid and saying "you know better". I those 10 years ago telling a story on CS 1.6 servers that made some people's hair stand on end (losing a leg and walking on a prosthesis since 2004) - but I was also able to be taunted by just the oldest ones that I should shut the ♥♥♥♥ up because I'm not in voice mutation (these were no mIRCY or playing clans, ordinary games on public 32 slot servers).
Your argument about Steam changes that older users don't like is invalid. Companies like Valve think long term and the changes they make step by step will still be for the target audience in those 15-20 years, i.e. the next 15 year old, not, as in my case, the 39 year old (in 15 years). Being infinite 24 years old this year, all the changes what enter Steam appeal to me, and I have had the account (main account) since 2009.
Where are you getting your numbers from?

Total accounts that have been created surpassed 1 billion in 2019. Even if half was alt accounts or bots, that is still large.

Yes, but your just talking about a person who wouldn't quit talking about a story,
what I am talking about is when a user just won't leave another alone, even if it
meant that they weren't attacking the user, & straight up going after the Games
that user plays.
Why does it matter soo much to an under age kid what game I play at all,
why does it even matter what game that child is playing at all? The only thing
I find not suitable for a child to play is an A/O or XXX Rated title, which also
means that anything LGBTQ also falls in that same category, too, because
there is no way to present LGBTQ without bringing topics like that to a surface.
I find XXX content far worst damaging then blood / gore.
And I would not want my child exposed to that at all. This
does not in any way shape or form mean that I would want
to expose someone else's child to something they would
not want them exposed to.
But in all honestly? USA is trying to push a law over not allowing
children to be exposed to certain things? In all honestly? I dis-Agree
with most USA Laws that are being made today, & i'm not going to
listen to them, because I think these Laws are just stupid.
It has come to a point where it just feels like we are being told
how to live, & the USA Government is in control of our children,
instead of the parents today. It's just stupid.

If my child wants to play an M or R rated title? I'm not going to
abide by the USA Government Law. I'm gonna let that child
of mine play that content despite it being a new law.
Rude behavior is not locked to one age group.
As I said before? It's not about age group,
do you not understand what an older user is??
For Instance: a User who's been on steam for 15 years,
versus a User who's only been on steam for 2 weeks?
Age Of Account also isn't what i'm referring to, because
some Users have made Accounts more then once.
That is why I specified User.
As for showing XXX content to children, I am in favor of being as strict as possible about it, because I myself, at a young age, not seeing how to properly say vagina or penis, was shown such thins like that and I have smth wound on the brain.
Maybe soo? But some people may feel that it is an issue.
What you mean is that people used to find solace in video games and have support because they were getting rumblings on 'their field', and now you get rumblings here and here, only that in the latter case you mean heckling?
On a different note, in 2016 or soon after the release of CS:GO 10 years ago, between halves of a match, people were calling each other the worst things. that can pop into the head of a frustrated player after losing or exalting themselves - including insults - because you won the half. I think you are idealizing the old days, and in fact little has changed.
If someone wants to attack something about your account or profile, they can usually find something - unless you private your profile, but that's also something people use against you. I've seen people insulted over having a private profile more than anything else, to be honest. I've seen almost anything else used as an insult honestly. Anime profile pic? Get called a weeb. Furry profile pic? Get called a furry. A lot of hours in x or y game? Get insulted for that. The age of your account? I've never seen it.
Again, you just don't get it. I'm not wasting my time here,
you clearly aren't getting it.
@peppermint
You still haven't gotten it. This isn't about Account Age, either.
It's about how long you have been involved with the platform,
or the history you have spent on games at all in general.
As for unless your Profile is private?
I have no idea what your talking about, ~_~
This is why I can't even get anything done,
because people can't even address a situation
with logics... People are sooo childish, i'm done
here...
Apparently, you can't just say something, & get
a logical response out someone...
Clearly your doing this on purpose, ~_~
I'm just sooo glad that I have friends with better brains,
cause clearly steam forums doesn't have any...
