I was asking the question because I can't download the 13.1 GByte patch for Generation Zero.
* I have ~31 GByte free on the D drive where the game is installed.
* I have ~3 GByte free on C drive where the operating system et.al. is installed.
Steam (in all its wisdom) does *not* tell how much space is actually needed and where (which) drive it needs the space for the download ... it only gives an error "not enough disk space".
.. hence my question where the download directory is and how to change it.
But steam does tell how much space you do have left on your storage in the steam settings. The download directory is as where you put the path to install the game, the downloading folder is only for games or apps that you have actively downloading.
its not like the uncompressed screenshots.
My steam is installed on drive Q: the game is installed in drive S: and it downloads the files to G: e.g. an Update for a game, and I don't know how I can change it
