Join me in my protest against Steam.
I have already told Steam unless they let us sale our accounts I will no longer spend money on Steam and I will protest on multiple platforms. If it comes to it we can head to their headquarters and protest. We bought all those games and it's our account so it should be up to us. They claim the reason is they only want the original owner using the account yet the family share plan contradicts that. I actually have a terminal illness and only have about five to ten good years left. i would like to pass my gaming legacy on to a new owner in the form of gaming accounts yet they won't let me. That's literaly thousands of hours and dollars wasted away cause Steam doesn't care about us gamers they only care about themselves.

Who's "we"?

In fact, if Steam were to allow license transfers, it would probably hurt the game industry pretty bad; unless I get some credible reasoning why this won't happen, I'm actually in favor of not allowing license transfers.

Hijack account
“Transfer license”

If you thought spam was bad before, I hope everyone wants to party like it’s 2008 when there was so much spam you couldn’t even use Steam

Honestly, I'm surprised OP thinks his account is actually worth more than $5 or $10.

You can't inherit property that belongs to valve. if they allow you to take over the account? that is up to valve, but you are just a customer, just like the one who passed away.
Sure you can. Just ensure the login credentials *and* the proofs of ownership go to the person you want it to inherit, for example a kid. Said kid can then use the account and even recover it if necessary (due to having the profos of ownership).

You ask if Valve would allow taking over the account. How would they know?

No, the account is rented and it's not your property. you can login and play from it sure, but ultimately it's still belongs to valve. they can allow it to remain active or shut it down and they don't need to give you a reason why if they don't want to.

None of that answers the question I asked, nor does it in any way mean that what I said cannot be done.

I wonder if the OP is able to name a single account that you can sell like this. I know you CANNOT sell accounts from

Amazon
Xbox
Microsoft
Battle.net
Ubisoft
Nintendo
etc

All have identical rules regarding it

I don't know of any service where selling your account isn't a Terms of Service violation.
