Those accounts simply are old accounts they hijacked or bought themselves. And it's also not hard getting ones hand on a big bunch of Steam keys for cheap.
Those accounts simply are old accounts they hijacked or bought themselves. [/quote]
you disagreed with me and then agreed with me , and finding the website that sells the 2003 accounts that all come with the same 8 games is not evidence ? again the whole point of the discussion was to ...discuss how their making new accounts appear to be old accounts , go take a walk have a shower and then come back if you actually want to be apart of a constructive conversation , please your not adding to this in any positive way
your also being woefully disingenuous
You're being disingenious by disregarding the obvious thing: All you're seeing is hijacked/bought old accounts being resold. It's not an inside job.
perfect then its safe to assume you will be leaving the discussion now !
Bye Bye !
have a good day
they hate the fact i sold my account for a bitcoin so much.
hate is strong , sadly hate is also blinding you find alot of hate comes from lack of education on the topic or in general and frankly the hate is often baseless as you have seen eram
They're not making new accounts.
People have been making accounts for sale since Steam became a thing. Create a number of accounts with cheap keys -> sit on them for years -> sell them when the account or the games on the are in demand.
Some people sell accounts with specific games. Some sell accounts based on how old they are. Been going on all this time.
Now then, if a site is selling accounts, those accounts can come from a variety of sources, like:
1. Hijacked accounts that the original user has forgotten or given up on.
2. Previously sold accounts being sold forwards. Some might have a VAC ban on them. Such accounts were used in large quantities to spam vote community content before Valve stopped it.
3. Accounts made specifically to be sold at a later time.
4. Users that are giving up on gaming putting their own accounts up for sale.
5. Accounts used to scam people who think they can buy one. After a while the seller just reclaims the account as they have the original proof of ownership.
And so on and so on.
All the accounts have a SteamID which would reveal accounts that were created in 2023 and made to look like accounts created in 2003. Can't have duplicate IDs after all.
So someone that got access to a bunch of email logins could run through them and see if any of them were the login for old Steam accounts and try a password recovery (if it was different from the email password). With access to the email they can delete the ones from Steam to cover their tracks and change the Steam account email to a new one.
Believe me, that's one reason why I've made sure to change my email and Steam password every so often, in addition to the time I learned of a data breech with my email provider. I also make sure that my email password is excessively unique so if someone somehow had access to some of my other passwords, there is nothing there that would help them guess it.
