On the touchscreen there’s an icon called “Arcade”. They have several in-house games made by Tesla, but in the past they have always included a set of games from Atari. Namely Asteroids, Lunar Lander, Invaders Etc. These were called the TeslAtari games.
As of late 2022, when Tesla refreshed their model X and model S vehicles, they dropped the contract to use the TeslAtari games and didn’t tell anyone. Apparently Tesla replaced that option with STEAM. Now, I’m not a “Gamer”, being the old codger that I am. However I have always loved Asteroids. Nobody at the local Tesla service center knew that Atari had been dropped and replaced with STEAM. However as I looked into what STEAM was all about, imagine my joy when I discovered that I could purchase Asteroids through STEAM and play it in my car!
Well, everything was hunky dory until a couple weeks ago the runtime “Soldier” was pushed down to the car’s Arcade system. It’s Linux-based, and that’s about all I know. I’ve messed around with the menus and there is no apparent way to back out of or uninstall this runtime with the menus provided by Tesla. And of course the local Tesla Service center’s right hand does not know what the left hand is doing when it comes to the gaming system. So I opened a ticket with STEAM and they were clueless also, advising me to resolve it on the public forum.
So here I am, totally surprised that there is no discussion about Tesla cars and their STEAM problems. So that’s my story, and I’m stickin to it.
Did I make things as clear as mud?
Vic
Also you might want to try searching in google for some sort of Tesla Forums. I don't know if the Steam forums are the right place to search for this.
Although you could also try asking here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/
Depending on your state/region/province, this is probably illegal to begin with.
