new steam profile changes

hello i notice how private profiles have new pattern in the blue unlike public profiles and also have black background and an extra bar without content as of recently

this is taken today and apply to all private profiles:

also when edit profile, the showcases are now in gray instead of its original dark blue only when inside the edit profile section, also taken today

i only mention this for fun and i think they test profile updates on less impactful areas (edit profile, private profiles), and no i dont use steam beta and other friends have seen the same things

Functionally what changed?
I mean, it looks like stuff has moved around, but what is the business value and the workflow they are enabling?

I keep getting the Eddison effect in this place. Too often people who dont use the platform every single day, end up finding out about a feature 2 months after it went live because all the cool stuff is hidden. I want to bling my profile, but I never get told when stuff is happening.

but now wait on thing next to green mailbox top right in default steam to go blue then click there so see steam news you can be sure they do announce this when finish as they active from there when it need to

That is a lot of new choice and control we are getting.

I am reading all the news from the loudspeaker announcer, but never that excited.

I have seen apps that change faster, created by smaller development teams, that are not addicted to muted dull colours.

i dont know what mean "a lot" but yes they take careful steps to make sure fresh and user friendly experience and more time for other things as half life alyx is released and they worked on that game

yes i agree actually on badges sometimes i get too scared for craft badge because next one could look worse...
