I'm curious as to how you intend to do that and prevent the Windows 7 install from dialling home. Because as soon as it dials home after the EOL date, it's going to forcefully upgrade you to an install that won't function. For that matter, how will you use a Win 10 install to run games on Win 7 which Steam would consider to be a different PC?
It sounds to me like you're making a lot of extra effort for yourself when you could just run Windows 10.
My motherboard Gigabyte Z77-D3H isnt compatible with Win 10. I installed Win 10 several times but my whole system was freezing suddenly especially when multitasking and after restart it was unable to boot; while on Win 7 it works like a charm. I found your solution very useful and I m eager to see if my system can run Win 10 through a VM.
Not to mention the fact that hundred of users have posted workarounds for this directly in Win7 since the whole shabang debate started.
Well, you decide for a paid closed source OS, which is supplied with updates for a certain time. Then it gets a new name in the meantime (7,8,8.1,10,11).
How many hours of work do you demand from the measly contribution MS has from you? How many resources do you think are wasted on something like this?
Instead of switching to a free opensource OS in the long run. Do you make one on "stinginess is cool and if my end devices are infected and possibly end up in a botnet and help to cause damage in the millions. I don't care... free upgrade is out of the question, that's something of impertinence *cry cry cry cry*"
It's nice that insurance companies are now changing in the technology sector and it's no longer insurable. People like you are helping with this damage. People like you should be sued for damages!
How can you be so proud to be such a POS.
Another recommendation, sometimes it helps to install the os fresh. So after 10 was associated with the hardware already, i would try that. Best with another hard drive, to have the old install just in case. No loss possible when trying.
Why should I do that? I already own Win 10. These drivers look more like beta than finished product plus there are no drivers for all the components. I found on google that other Z77 users have similar issues and someone claimed that Gigabyte support told him that this motherboard wasnt made for Win 10.
