Gog Galaxy has never been supported on windows 7 which people seem to forget even beyond the chromium issue

You can run windows 11 on an Dell Inspiron 1012 netbook which has an Atom processor with 2 GB of RAM

Can't say GoG or Epic have changed in relevancy for me. The former is one I still use for the old games they modify, though due to them doing that less and less they became less relevant. Epic has such a limited catalog that they don't have that much that interests me, so perhaps when their catalog expands more they become relevant for me.

Epic and others are also dropping the support in 2024 or even before. Win 7 in a mess there are no drivers for some programs and applications I use nor do companies update drivers for that os anymore.

Guess you haven't played Fortnite. Also they are in the process of phasing out support for 7 & 8 just like Steam. Their store runs on the same version of Chromium that is being discontinued as Steam runs on.

Not to mention every single game still runs perfectly fine on Windows 7 & 8 on steam...

GOG has been having issues with individual games for months. An update will come out that changes the minimum system requirement. When this happens the old version is removed and replaced with the new version. So the product that fits the description on the store page is no longer available for download and you get a product with different system requirements instead.

GOG doesn't make Galaxy mandatory like Valve did with Steam. You can keep your old installers if you downloaded them in time. However a problem still existed without the involvement of a launcher.

I don't have to use Galaxy so I don't use Galaxy. What you described, is that just installing the game or can you get the individual installers that way?

Already been using both for years, along with Steam. But they are both dropping Win7 support as well, so that will be short lived for those who refuse to put the horse and buggy out to pasture.

You can only downgrade GOG games via GOG Galaxy, because the web installers only work to install the latest version.

GOG Galaxy doesn't work on Windows 7/8
