New old school FPS games.

I see loads of them and they all have the same few issues.

They look really bad. They go for this style where they try and look old as if its somehow cool, its not, these games looked as good as they could for the time they came out. They were the cutting edge back then. Do the same now.

They have awful movement. You cant bhop, air strafe or jump strafe. There is nothing to them, just move and shoot.

No. Thats not what I mean. I love Doom and Quake.

These games miss the point. Doom and Quake set the standard for technology in their era. Now you just have these awful imitations who manage to be worse even though they have nearly 30 years of technological improvements to help them.

What I am saying is they cant even hold up to the games they are based on. They miss the point, even the movement they cant get right.

They are all like this, there is just swarms of them.

One everyone seems to love is DUSK and it just looked like vomit. Its like the brown era of gaming all over again.

If you hated garlic bread and loved chocolate cake, but it was fashionable to bake GB loaves that look like chocolate cakes, I’d also suggest you avoid those disingenuous loaves.

Sure, that's your opinion. But my friends who loved those games to death back in the 90s also love these new boomer shooters to death.

It's simply a matter of taste. And it's fine that you don't like them, really. Other people do, and perhaps they're more the target audience.

Yes, these games are made from nostalgia reason. No, sometimes they dont offer much above nostalgia.

Im the old time player, I've been playing Wolfenstein 3d and Spear of Destiny as a child. Do I want to play those games again? Nope.

Most probably this game is not that good as I expect, but since it meges universum of Warhammer together with old school style... I will give it a try.

Oh, by the way. In Wolfenstein New Order there was a hidden easter-egg. In one of the locations you could find old Wolfenstein 3d and play it for a while. I did... and lasted some 3 minutes. Jeezzz... this game was so much more difficult without option to hide behind something, headshot nazis or throw granades... Nope, there is no comming back to this ;-P
