Firefox can work on Win7 even after 2024 as it not use features budled in OS.
I can buy games on Steam website via Firefox but cannot run them as Steam Client will not run anymore.
That is like watching an "clown show"
It will go the same way as Windows XP, no security updates and the OS is shelved by Microsoft because it is outdated and can't support newer features without a severe rework which the new Windows are just reworks.
Honestly, kinda late to complain about it now, should've made these protest threads ages ago before it was the backbone of the system.
With Vulkan api i can play even Win10 games bud
You are comparing old NT (WinXP) system with modern Win7 that is has been just "Bloated" to Win10.
"Each month, there are around 120 million active monthly players on Steam"
Win7 1% of 120/100% = 1.2 million people
IF Win7 users buy 50 USD game today * 1 200 000 people =
60 000 000 USD for just one day...
For 60 million i can employ any software and kernel programer in world to create anything i want. :)
Just another Defender of Big company
The real reason as it always boils down to is you cant afford new hardware so see no need to get 11, keep 7 because for some reason you think it works better even though the newer OS has the exact same system requirements and can be installed without TPM.
You likely hold no job too.
Also Windows 7 was a hot mess when it launched too, not as bad as Vista, not close but was not great either, over time people stuck to it because of updates, you are trash talking out of ignorance and stubborness, not intellect or a valid reason.
You are talking about an os like if it was a person ... it's not 'dead', it will continue working like your old car if you switch your comp on, it will boot. Glad there is no kill switch embedded into it.
And about security , well may be but i do not think i am less secure running w7 rather than w10 or w11 ...
It's always the others fault!
Hilarious when it is Microsoft who abandoned Windows 7 not Valve, why would a company keep updating this for an insecure operating system?
You would be very wrong about that.
So tell me why ?
I do not think ... will some 'vilain' hack will try to install some malicious code/program more than w10 or w11 ? That's a bit hilarous.Yes w7 is outdated but it does not means it does not work.
Compromised by what ? more than the new os ? i do not think sorry...
Will be better if Win10 users be NOT able to comment on this matter as only purpose you are here is generate comments that wil Force LOCK this topic by Steam Staff.
The newer operating system has bug fixes and security updates, the older one does not.
Both operating systems rely upon the same instruction sets. x86, SSE2, etc etc, they are fundamentally indifferent but the way the operating systems deal with attacks is very different and only one of those is getting updated.
Windows 7 is compromised far more than 10/11.
