So I take it you have to translate it from 32 bit or something to that effect. Rather tired lol.
So I'm in the 8 digit club - yay.
Where's my prize? :P :)
The site does it all for you, I'm not sure how you translate it into the Steam ID. Back in the early days of Steam we would find the Steam ID through console in Counter-Strike so that is why we say the Steam ID is in this form STEAM_0:0:3192
No need to use such sites with the method described above, besides it will show a link to your profile in its main page to all internet until pushed away by more recent searches, someone can find this inappropriate to them.
That is not your SteamID32, that it is your Steam3ID. I used steamrep as an example for quickness off top of my head but you could find other sites to find your ID's.
The other way to find your SteamID32 is by typing "status" in the console while on a server for Counter Strike or other Valve game, if it still works. It has been over ten years since I last tried checking Steam Id's in console while in game.
This will then give you your Steam ID in the SteamID32 format which is like this STEAM_0:0:3192 (in my case) and that is what is known as your Steam ID and it has been since day one of Steam.
You have a 7 digit ID
STEAM_0:1:945****
Good to know! Thanks.
Holy hell, the inaccuracies in almost every claim you made... smh.
1. My SteamID is 7 digits and was created in 2005(20 years next year). If I remember correctly, they(Valve) were already on 9+ digits by 2013/2014 because that's around the time I purchased my alt account and it's 9.
2. Going through a reputable Third Party, accounts can be sold, but OBVIOUSLY not utilizing the Community Market -- reputable/trusted, being the keyword. It would be essentially the exact same process of buying skins from any .gg site(they have an inventory on X-steam account, you send funds, they transfer skin(s) to your account) the major difference being you relinquishing your account information(obviously, remove any personal/payment information prior to trade).
3. Seeing that there is no set market for account purchasing, the value of the account is much the same as art... whatever someone is willing to pay. I remember back in the day(2012ish), people were trying to buy 4-dig accounts for 4-5 figures, but that was before Counter Strike MM Ranks were a thing and the only way to get a pre-judged sense of how good your competition was required you to type 'status' in console and see who has the lowest SteamID numbers or know their CAL/CPL rank.
If you have no idea about any of what I just previously mentioned, then you probably shouldn't be on a public forum spreading complete nonsense because my Steam account is probably older than you... but imma let you cook.
Definitely worth that ego moment at the end where you think you are older/smarter than the person you quoted from a year ago... Dumbest necro ever.
Having the knowledge to do something doesn't mean I committed the act and providing anecdotal examples that I'VE SEEN done doesn't hold me culpable for said actions e.g. knowing how to murder someone doesn't mean I go around killing people(nor advise it).
Age/intelligence has absolutely no bearing on someone seeking guidance on a topic and being given misinformation.
I'm just relaying the information I know on the subject that he asked about, not in an advisorial manner. My ego has nothing to do with it.
Thank you for the much needed reminder of the absolute toxicity of the Steam community. Salute to you, my guy.
You literally ignored the whole fact that if you get caught taking that act, you lose the account.
"I can commit a crime, and if I don't get caught I did nothing wrong" is not the win you think it is.
Whereabouts in any of my previous posts did I say I, myself, sold an account?
Quote it for me, I must be wrong.
You may think they are reputable but they are not and the selling of accounts no matter who someone uses to broker the selling of an account is against the rules of having a Steam account.
While we're whipping out our Steam ID's to claim bragging rights, mine is a four digit and I was offered 3K for it back in the day (2005) but One, it wasn't for sale, Two you cannot sell accounts and Three because you cannot sell them means they are Totally Worthless no matter how much someone may says it might be worth.
Bolded it too, since you can't seem to even recall what you wrote. Never said you sold an account, but buying one is equally bad. And openly admitting on the platform that bans people for doing it is hilarious.
The fact you'd call someone out for being wrong, while entirely IGNORING the fact you cannot legally transfer an account and Valve is WELL known for locking down any account that is sold when they catch it is shockingly, brazenly stupid on its head.
Accounts are worth nothing. There also is no such thing as a "reputable" site for doing something that is quite literally illegal
Ah, I guess I wasn't clear: I didn't illegally purchase my alt. account, I purchased it via Steam and was using this example solely as a reference point(year/SteamID digit value) for SteamID value progression because the individual I was responding to claimed that "a 16 year old account is nearly 3 years after SteamIDs were created" which is the fallacy I was disproving.
