My skin is pending on marketplace
Hey guys I put a skin on market place yesterday and I got the email it had been sold 6 hours ago then now I went to the market place and under my sales history it says pending and no money has been added to my account. I've sold tons of skins on here before never had this issue any idea why and when the funds will go in my account? Thanks in advance

It has to be based on an accounts trust factor of the buyer, I've had multiple items go through perfectly but when selling to someone with a sketchy ass profile it gets held up

It doesn't matter the buyer. I sold the same sticker to various buyers and my funds get blocked anyway. I noticed that happens with the items that have many low peak buys. Example if the average price of the item is 1$ but there are many buy peaks of 10 cents, probably the average price of the item goes down to 50 cents. Then when you sell it to normal price(1$) the AI see it like an "suspicious price"

You can't. The money is in pending, not your skin. You need to wait the 1-2 days

This is protection for dumb people who are stupid enough to get their account hacked. And common people need to have restrictions because out there, little kids are being scammed.

boi i slap the goofy out of you if i could do you not remember the whole tf2 trading drama were steam had to ban multiple traders because they were traded a hacked/duped item? imagine if that happened to you man imagine you buying an item getting it instantly then being banned because that item was hacked/dupped same goes for any other good on the steam market this process is a to check if the item is a real authentic item (by the way there is a real life equivalent to this check) but in short you can get easily tricked on steam and scammed out of your account

If you can just READ the steam community guidelines you CANNOT be hacked/scammed. But people are just too lazy to read and just complain when they are scammed. So steam is doing a favor to dumb/lazy crying kids.

Valve did not ever ban for trading or buying duped items. Duped items were made by Valve, so why would they ban for that? They used to duplicate items for scammers but stopped doing that because people abused it and probably also because it was teaching people it's fine to be bad with your account security.

"Since the last account security update, we've made significant progress in protecting accounts. In addition to significantly increasing the size of Steam Support to improve response times, individual accounts protected by the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator on a separate device turned out to be even more effective than we'd hoped. For customers who have yet to add the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, trade holds have been helpful in keeping items secure, and we expect that the added duration and extension of holds to the Steam Community Market will further improve security.

Our work isn't finished, but we've seen enough progress in account security to finally address an old problem: item duplication. Currently, if an account is compromised and items have been lost through a successful trade or market transaction, we would manually restore the items, creating duplicates of the original items in the process. That process of manual restoration and duplication has the negative side effect of changing an item's scarcity - as more copies of the item are created, the value of every other similar item is reduced. In addition, it created a method by which users could be rewarded for faking account hijacks.

While we'll continue to assist users with the recovery of their account if they encounter an issue, beginning March 9th we will no longer be manually restoring items that have left the account due to a successful trade or market transaction."

There you have it. Duped items are not "hacked" nor did Valve ever ban people for buying or trading them because Valve themselves are the ones who created them. This cooldown has nothing to do with item checks or duped items. After all, it makes no sense because if that was really the case, it would be instantaneous because there's no reason the computer/server couldn't instantly check if the item in question shares the same internal ID with another in the database.

Exactly. That has only ever been something scammers claim in order to intimidate people into giving up their items or accounts.

actually they have however the ones you refer to as "duped" are not duped they are items valve attempted to restore because of several reasons, but you young steam users don't even know history with valve and its toxic fanbase
