Why not both?

Any, all or none of the above.

Buy stuff when they go one sale at a price you are willing to pay, which may not even be during any of the Steam sales.

What's there to discuss? They're both moments to purchase games on discounts. And like any sale it depends on my mood, budget and what I'm playing whether I do purchase something or not.

If you want to save ALOT of bucks on games you should save money to christmas sale to summer sale.
I buy about 5 - 10 AAA games on those events same time you some fun awards and bagde for them.

Since the devs/pubs set the price they want for major sales, I did not discuss.

I just picked some games that goes on the highest discount, that's all.

We can look back to this time that I wrote this on this Forum that you will get the same price you got now or less, but possible less.

If you looked at any game that has the same price during and without major sales, you would realize there's no "possible less". It's the developer's and publisher's choice after all.

Steam is pressing developers to sell them on sales.
There have been many times developer have been leaving steam because of that.
I'think you will find it if you google it.

Steam has nothing to do with the developers.

Look up Factorio, the game that isn't going on sale for years. Guess what? It's the developer that do.

Steam tries to organize seasonal sales. Steam will likely have a Summer Sale which helps draw users to their platform and drives up sales. Developers opt into these seasonal sales to also increase people buying and playing their games, so it’s a mutual benefit. If the developer or publisher doesn’t want to participate in this sale, they don’t have to.

The developers or publishers of the game can decide the price of their game, which also includes being able to put it on sale for any price, time, and period.

Neither. I find better deals from devs throughout the year. Kinda like Black Friday. You get better deals on higher quality products during the year rather on Black Friday itself.

Also correct. I have seen many times a game go on sale with a better deal just a week after a major sale. isthereanydeal . com is great.
