What's with the constant updates?

Yesterday it updated twice. Today another update, and about ten minutes later it wanted to update AGAIN.

Because sometimes thing break other things or they have to update something first before they can do the full update

In addition to that, why does this update keep turning on steam cloud on my machine? I have had cloud turned off for years until yesterdays update, which for some reason activated it.

I turned it off and then today's re-release update activated it yet again.

I've observed that it's not just with every re-update, but that it's with every time you boot up steam.

Dont be part of the steam client beta, if you do not want frequent client updates

The main branch got additional updates too. They should be the same builds right now.

i dont ever remember it updating sooooo many times in a row, like 40k times just today.... :(
