Anodyne 2 has low poly PS1-style graphics for exploring, and pixel art for puzzles

Why? If you're hitting 5xxx X 2440 "5k" resolutions (or in the ballpark of 5k's 5120 x 2880), then you're probably doing so on a gaming system capable of DLSS or FSR.

Wouldn't gaming at 720p, upscaled look as crisp?

I mean, that "surroundead" looks like graphics from Quake III Arena days of the early 2000's when the PlayStation 2 set the graphics expectations. There is a screenshot of a deer which doesn't have any shading or smoothing, it is just bare polygons.

I'm not sure what games support 5k resolutions, but the id Tech engine games have a console where you can override a resolution. The UI might be too small to use however, but I'd recommend those. Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Call of Duty (2003), American McGee's Alice, Quake III Arena.

Didn't realise i had to give a reason but i can... I have a bunch of AAA and AA games already i play on ultra, i find the lower res ones they cram a LOT more into it and can do because of the lower textures etc and gives the game more depth in some cases.

They are also not 50gb-100gb.

not heard of the mcgee one though will take a look.

Heh, thought the same. But game was surprisingly good and story is quite deep, if you want to investigate and ask questions.

How is this not advertising, etc?

Because asking the community to recommend games and then the community recommending them, is not advertising? Also, every link is from the Steam store so.
