Sending anything in or out of Argentina and Turkey is heavily restricted these days on Steam.
Well does it goes as fraud if someone buys it in his reagion for full price there, but lover price then in your region and simply send it as gift...... How does that counts as fraud? He paid full price..
Using a country's weaker GDP to save a buck may seem savvy, but can also be considered tax fraud depending your local tax laws.
Apart from gifting not being possible in general if the price difference of the two store regions is more then 10%.
Which would be the case for pretty much 100% of games on the Argentinian store.
Because many games there only cost a fraction of the prices in other Steam regions.
Also the Argentinian currency has been on a downward trend for years now so its even cheaper.
You can get some 60 dollar games for like 5 dollars after conversion in Argentina.
Which made it a attractive goal for region hoppers on Steam and it got so bad that Steam had to introduce severe restrictions about switching your store region and further restrictions just for the Argentinian Steam Store.
Not anymore actually, im from Argentina and prices where rised by 500%, so now the price is almost the same as everywhere, the problem is that here we earn 300-400 dollars monthly instead of 1500 :( (Doesn't work with every game, thats about the suggested steam price for Argentina, but almost every game is using it)
And yeah, that happened cause of people abusing of the Argentina store, no clue how, but thanks to them, now the Argentinians like me are ♥♥♥♥♥♥, will never be able to buy RE4
Your 75% taxes on top of the purchases will make most games way too expensive to gift anyways.
Yup, exactly, RE4 costs around 110 dollars including the taxes, impossible to buy for most people here
Today on "This person needs better education" lol
Trying to circumvent regional restrictions is considered fraud.
Hmm. Valve has banned people from doing stuff like this since the Orange Box days.
