Error Code: -118
Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with Error Code: -118 and have not been able to find a solution. I searched the Steam Forums, but only found one post related to this issue, which did not offer a resolution.

Although I can play my Steam games online with no issues, this error code occurs whenever I try to access the store page. I believe this may be affecting the games update information under Library page.

This problem has persisted for several weeks, and I have not made any changes to my internet settings, except for a new router installed by my ISP. While I can access Steam without problems using my work laptop, attempts to reinstall the Steam client on my personal laptop from there have not resolved the issue.

Is there anyone who has had the same problem and can provide assistance? I would be grateful for your help.

I have not had the issue, but that router could be the key to your problem. Researching past known issues, seems like it could be the router, the firewall, an app, or weak connection.

My bet is the router or router settings.

Some article suggests restarting the router.

Ask in the Hardware and OS forum section. People there are pretty smart with this stuff.
