UBISOFT CONNECT IS UTTER ♥♥♥♥
The fact that i need to log in to this bs to uninstall a game from my pc is UNBELIEVABLE.
I had an old game installed on my pc from Ubisoft Connect and i COULDN'T uninstall it (even by the control panel), unless i logged in (lost my old credentials of course).
But this is nuts!!!! this is MY pc, if I want to uninstall a game you have to let me do it! you CANNOT override my personal computer. Is called "personal" for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason!
God bless Steam.

Complaining about another service here for what reason?

But the stuff you put on it doesn't belong to you - it's licensed. I'm pretty sure you could've uninstalled everything via the control panel route without having to login.

And where should I post it, on reddit? ♥♥♥♥ that, I don't want to spend the rest of my evening arguing with some 10 year old about the geopolitical state of western society.

no, I just couldn't. Even if you try to uninstall the game from the control panel Ubisoft connect will pop up and ask you to log in....that's why is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

You have until April 25, 2023 to post and get responses since they are shutting them down.

Or go to their Discord.

Tbh, Ubisoft won't do anything to resolve or fix this, from lack of innovation to not listening to community feedback.

All their games have many bugs and crashes (like Bethesda), and Ubisoft refuses to fix these issues.
Ubisoft, EA, Rockstar, Bethesda - anymore to add to the list of client failures?

Well... I mean if you want to go through ubisoft's official uninstall process I'm not surprised.

In reality nothing is stopping you from just deleting the game files. There's maybe not tons of magic the uninstaller is doing for games. So it comes down to, do you need the official ritual? Do you have superstitious belief that not doing it just so will harm Windows? Do you think some random left over data or orphaned registry settings is a significant concern?

In my experience, it's not.

it's also a good idea to manage your various accounts in a password manager. You know you're gonna forget things, case in point. Proper account management is going to save you some heartache in the long run. It's a pain in the neck if you're not in the habit, but if you can make it a habit, you'll be the coolest kid on your street. You'll always be able to sleep soundly. And recovering accounts will be easy, or better yet you just log in because you always have the credentials available in a nice secure place.
I don't care about Ubisoft preventing me from using the uninstaller, that I can understand, but I couldn't even uninstall from the control panel. I had to delete the original folder. That's too much!
Not a big deal, but that's kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up

If you complain on the Ubisoft Forums, they will just perma ban you.
So be careful with them.

Ubisoft are woke groomers who despise their customers having any other opinion but the current groomer group think.

As for your Windows uninstaller, have you tried revo uninstaller?
That would save you from having to deal with all the crapware/shovelware that gets dumped on gamers all the time.

So many launchers..
So much crap...

And as for the terms and conditions...
They are just making it up as they are going along...

Steam should bypass the other launchers.
It shouldn't even be a question.

Yup! At least they are giving a warning so people can back up their posts, unlike what Valve initially did with SPUF.

Note just so people aren't super confused, this is in reference to ubisofts forums, not to ubisoft connect. Because you know someone is going to read this and then think 'ubisoft is killing their games' or some other insane nonsense

You do realize you can't uninstall steam games unless you're logged into the steam client...... right? If you try to uninstall a game from apps&features it basically just tries to launch steam with the steam protocol to uninstall the game. If you're not logged in the protocol call fails

Just like on uplay
