SteamCMD
Add SteamDRM support for app_run so we can launch any app on our logged-in steam account.
I'm not sure who else has a need for this but you could save a GB of ram by using steamcmd instead of steam client.

Not really.

I'm aware of the "buy more ram" solution. I currently have 12gb. There's really no excuse for steam switching to a web backend for their ui and vacuuming up ram in the process. Adding steamdrm to steamcmd to support launching games through app_run should be a feature anyways; I was surprised it wasn't.

SteamCMD isn't really meant to be used instead of the client, it's more useful for people with dedicated servers where logins aren't mandatory, thus the resources are saved due to things like that, which is why the anonymous login generally only works for apps which don't require ownership, such as people running dedicated servers.

They would only need the client if they wanted to as example, run the game itself. Not a dedicated server or other tool/app.

16GBs was a minimum recommended for gaming a long time ago. If you're utilizing more RAM or nearly maxing it out, you need to install the proper amount if you don't want to utilize virtual memory.

You really should install more RAM than you need, by absolute default.

Valve switched to a web backend years ago. How comes you care now?

I think steamcmd lacks steamdrm support since the former is mainly used for launching servers; May also be the fact that you could launch/manage games without utilizing the steam client and would give people the ability to make custom launchers/managers etc and it's a whole can of worms(security risks with 3rd party launchers etc) which is why it's all routed through steam. I can only speculate on why steamdrm isn't supported on steamcmd could be as simple as most users don't/wouldn't use it.

I've always hated it, I used the old launch parameters for as long as possible but they eventually released the new ui and there was no support for the old version.

I was going to create my own application for launching/managing my games but I can't launch games with steamdrm via steamcmd. 95% of the time I don't use steam aside from launching games so my issue is I have this program that essentially just launches games and keeps them up to date while using quite a bit of ram for just that.

They removed -no-browser launch option awhile ago and ram hasn't become an issue for me until now. If I could afford more ram I obviously wouldn't be trying alternative solutions, I'm well aware on how to fix the issue on my side.

There have been many launch options to solve my issue but Valve has removed all of them.

Let me give you the quote from the Valve Developer page;
The Steam Console Client or SteamCMD is a command-line version of the Steam client. Its primary use is to install and update various dedicated servers available on Steam using a command-line interface.

Basically the gist of what I mentioned earlier.

If you want to play your games, you need to use the full client unless the game doesn't need it by a direct executable operation. It's extremely easy to launch any game as-is including with shortcuts, you really don't need SteamCMD for something it's not intended for.

Again, if you're having issues with the amount of RAM you have or need, then you seriously should install more. Always install more than you will need on your heaviest load. RAM is incredibly cheap if you don't need the highest end stuff, which 12GB seems to be of a build that likely has age, and typically is super cheap.

Actually found a way to disable steamwebhelper and still access my library... for now.
