Steam does not recognize Windows 10
When loading the game - Steam displays an error message: "Windows not supported: 0x20060200. I have Windows 10 and 64 bit memory and can play when I ignore the message.
What can I do to eliminate the error message?

Reinstall Steam or reinstall the game you'trying to play.

Did it, but no change.

Of course Steam works with Windows 10. Are you using an older version of Windows 10 ??? Make sure it's the Latest version by checking for updates.

Click on start menu > click on settings / gear icon > click on system > scroll down to about and click it > and check your build number, what build are you on?

This^. It could require 1909 or later, for example.

So you're on 22h2 good.

Do windows update to check for any missing update incase.

Ensure you install all drivers needed to running the game, as they're important.

Updated Windows - the OS build reads now 19045.3031. I hope that is sufficient.
"Alienware" is updating the drivers regularly. Where else do I have to check?
Could this have influenced Rome Remastered/ Mod performance? People have problems there and it is not entirely mod related.
Thank you for your help, the Roman Gods will be looking favorable over you

Are you completely sure it is Steam that's displaying the error message and not the game? How do you know it's Steam displaying this error message?
Fridericus Jun 12, 2023 @ 9:32pm
Because the message appears before I even get to the game.

... still entirely possible for the game executable to show this message before rendering the main game window. In other words, you don't know for sure and I am damn sure it's the game displaying this message. What game? Have you tried another game?
Fridericus Jun 12, 2023 @ 9:40pm
I am playing Rome Remastered and never tried a different game - when I click the game button on my desktop the message occurs and ask whether I like to quit or continue. I can go on and play the game, no problem.

Allow me to be absolutely explicit then: try another game!

Well, unfortunately RR is my only installed game, although 2 others are in the Library.
I grant you, you could be right, since the message appears both when loading from the desktop or going through the Steam desktop button.
I already installed twice: Steam and RR. Do I have to go again?

I want to you start another game. One that's not from the same series, one that's not running on the same technical foundation.
