Did steam fix their moderator issues?
So there's a steam game that is facing some backlash because of a issue that has a LOT of friction. It's not simple black and white like the war thunder issue where the developers are obviously in the wrong. This is political and there is a lot of messaging around telling people to stop playing the game. The discussions have been pretty divisive

Surprisingly, I'm not seeing a lot of removed posts and banned users. Just a banned user here and there and a locked thread here and there, which means the moderators are on the forums.

Of course there's no reason to ban these posts because they don't engage in hate speech, but moderators CAN argue users engaged in hate speech due to how the term hate speech is used these days. But they didn't.

This is in heavy contrast to back in hogwarts legacy where a bunch of posts got deleted and a bunch of users got banned.

Did steam fix their moderator issues? If so congrats steam about time. I hated the biased moderator team that got me a few bans and couldn't even explain the reason I got the bans... most likely because the bans where not justified.

Now can you guys fix game bans having the same account restrictions as VAC bans? Thanks.

EDIT for anyone complaining about my last paragraph:

Game hubs can run their hub as they want, whether or not they make good decisions is on them.

Peolle discussing social political or political subjects may generally go poorly. Users are encouraged to vote with their wallets without "stirring the hive". They may also use the Developers "Contact Us" or any other relevant page to give feedback for or against a subject.

If you believe a game hubs moderators are overly biased or are making wrong decisions, it's recommended to use the Contact Us page on their website.

No.

There are quite a few who also had their posts wiped due to their Community ban.

What that has to do with the discussion?

In regards to your hogwarts legacy comment many posts can get deleted automatically when a community ban is triggered

Game hubs tend to have independent mod teams - usually someone from dev team or publisher. User may seem to have not engage in arguments at first glance, but moderators can see all posts, even those removed by their creator.
Of course if you get a ban that you think was unjustified then you can push ticket regarding it to the Support.

I did like I said, but they didn't explain why my message got a ban. Sometimes they didn't even show my messages at all.

Nope, community bans are auto triggered when users rack up multiple bans from multiple forums and it purges their recent post history when it occurs.

The post doesn't state that the ban will be automatically applied if a user has multiple community bans, I would like to read more on that

There are several forum moderation suites and tools available, all with various sorts of features. Some do include automation such as that mentioned. I don't recall any specific ones off the top of my head, as it has been many years since I last modded and/or hosted a forum, but a quick google search of forum moderation software/suites will produce results.

Nothing to fix, as those who cheat should not have the same privileges as those who don't.

Game bans can be given to those who have commited other things OTHER THAN cheating. It is flawed because you get the same restrictions as someone who cheated which is just absurd.

Also, game bans are made solely at the discretion of the game developer, valve being the sole dictator of the platform having a ban any developer can give have the same impact as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ VAC ban is just absurd mentality EVEN if by a cheat accusation (of the game developer).
