How do you link Steam account to Xbox/Playstation?
For Cross-Play purposes

Depends on the game.

Doubt many games even allow cross play between platforms, especially PC and Console.

do you mean cross progression? as cross play doesn't require linking the accounts, and cross progression is on a game by game basis normally

I kind of just wanted to link my Steam account to Xbox/PS to see if I could see friends online and do cross-play. It depends on the game though.

Exactly, it depends on the game. I can tell you, for example, that you need a Shift ID for the Borderlands series.

Yeah, if you get the Xbox app for Windows you can see if your Xbox friends are online. You still have to find a compatible cross-play game though.

Good example is gears of war 5.

Link, and crossplay, as can see wh online, and play with them cross different platforms.
Just to be clear, there is no way to link your Steam profile/account directly to your Xbox or Playstation accounts. Steam does not support a feature. It's supported by some individual games but not Steam itself.

Yeah, it's not a feature on Steam yet. If you want to message/chat with players on Xbox consoles, you can get the Xbox app for PC.

Well, I need assistance. My brother recently purchased Halo CE Anniversary and gifted me a copy, too.. His game copy is connected & linked to his Xbox Live, but what about my copy? He bought it for me, will it be linked successfully to mine Xbox Live or his one ??? It already says to me 'can't connect to Xbox Live', while he can get in the game....
(Edit: needed to manage my DLC, there wasn't all for some reason)

Doesn't matter whom gifts you the game to your account, your account is your own account.

You launch halo, and you link your Microsoft/Xbox account.
