Come on Valve, fix broken Steam startup already geez
Seriously? Steam worked as intended for years. You startup the system and Steam would just be there in tray bar next to clock. Exactly where I want it when my system starts. Not in full screen mode, not across 1/4 of my right monitor side, I don't want it changing from Small to Large mode by itself. It has been broken and fiddly ever since new interface was introduced and I hate it like hell. Not the interface, the obnoxious startup behavior. And they even fixed it along the way just to break it MORE recently. HOW?!?!?!?!?

I don't want to fix my startup entry or use some whatever command line. Just fix the damn thing. How is this so hard?

I haven't noticed any start up behavior issues. This might be something you can manage on your own system, and relying on Valve to fix something you can manage might be a recipe for disappointment.

Cut the ranting & describe the problem precisely. You're so busy making sure this sucks, you aren't telling enough to get what you mean! Please describe what you're observing calmly & precisely.
Setting it to launch with Windows makes it start in the tray for me. It won't start in the tray from normal shortcuts (you have to add the -silent parameter manually here, I believe this to be intentional) nor will it start minimised if it's called in response to launching a game shortcut (which I believe is a bug). Yes, you still get the "Starting Steam" dialogue, but it's not exactly hard to keep your hands off the keyboard until it goes away, Steam isn't the first app that shows a splash screen even when it's starting in the tray.

I literally described. I changed absolutely NOTHING, yet it just started opening a window on every system boot. And when I put it in small mode to the right side of display the way I had it for last 15 years and it just decides to be a bigger window and in Large mode for whatever reason. I don't know, I have Steam installed for months, what has Valve changed?
