What is objectively the best game on Steam?
Everyone always talks about the worst games on steam, but in your opinion what is the best game on the store

Objectively? None. Cause it's always subjective.

Arma 3. Best experience i've had on a long time. Third person, first person, coop, sp, mp. The dlcs, the mods. Great stuff. But i should thank Ge Force Now, and Xbox for giving me access to Steam, given i don't need to spend thousands to play the newest, and not so new games out there. I wish Mr Newell and GFN can give us access to our whole Library on GFN.

What genre do you like? So many only a best for that type

No clue, not even for myself. I mostly just think "thumb up or thumb down", and don't try to order them any further.

I could probably retroactively expand the scale to 3 or 5 values, but not more. And it still wouldn't tell my which of the "double-thumb-up" is "the best".

lol... your topic is "...objectively..." but you're asking about our subjective opinions...

I think the closest thing to a "best steam game" would be Team Fortress 2. Highly influential, Free to play, one of the best shooters of all time, single handedly made Steam even a popular platform for devs to release their games on, probably the longest active non-mmo game of all time, huge pop culture impact, one of the key staples of steam games and probably in almost everyone's library etc.

If its not TF2 then idk what is. It defined PC online gaming as we know it. Though its hard to find an "Objectively best" game cause not only is that usually a subjective pesrpective, but the interpretation of it will also vary from person to person. Some people interpret "best game" as the most fun, some as the most highly rated, some as the most played, some as the most bought. I personally interpret is as the most impactful steam release, and that would be TF2.

Without TF2 most games wouldn't have popular cool things like...
*checks notes*
Uhm...
Loot boxes...
and...
ingame microtransactions...
*scrumples up paper and throws it away*
Anyways... It had an impact, that's for sure.

Maybe not the absolute top, but close.

188k reviews and 97% positive.

I agree.

TF2 also showed how much people cared about rare cosmetics even if it was a hat 🎩
Probably The Force Unleashed, but that's a close call with Knights of the Old Republic.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
