That's taking Game Pass and F2P games into account.
So, Madden just sells man. Don't ask me why. I'm still on Madden 19 lol.
I dont disagree at all However, on the front page of steam when you click top sellers you see Starfield... duh and then in the 13th place you see madden 24. (https://imgur.com/a/G1vvs9c)
On Steamdb we see Starfield is #1, but on madden 24 its #56
Here I am posting proof that Im seeing madden in 13th on steam but #56 on steamdb
Also Top Sellers is definitely related to active players. Especially when a game just came out or is dying, as when games are dying the majority of active players most likely bought the game long before and are still playing vs. a new game with a high and growing player count encourages new players to buy the game. Or basically do you think none of the current players just bought the game?
The SteamDB list is global, if I'm not mistaken. So you're comparing 2 different datasets.
Unwrap the link.
Steamdb only measure players
Steams top seller measures REVENUE
You might be shocked that SteamDb doesn’t have access to revenue data.
So yes there can be discrepancies between player base and daily revenue
Also your top sellers you initially see is your regional best seller. If you go to the global top sellers, you’ll notice NFL drops off. If you’re viewing the North American top sellers then NFL is going to be more popular
The top sellers list is a rolling 24 hour window. So as your top sellers timeframe drops off into off hours in North America you’re going to see a drop in sales as that window moves
