These are drowning out actual discussions about gameplay and problem solving. They are filled with trolls and actual neonazis. Steam forums need way better moderation and actual consequences.

I'd prefer they let Valve deal with the issue in house. 95% of the time government involvement doesn't make things better.

As other people as well as I stated previously these topics can be ignored by you. I don't see Valve needing to do anything here. They are expecting you to see a topic title and use your common sense before entering it.

It isn't being echoed by the subcommittee. It was a letter from one senator before she became chairman of that subcommittee.

Well they're not investigating anti woke issues, but the Ops concern about neo nazis running riot here, apparently.

Here in the states, far right wing terror groups, the largest terror threat in the United States, may be using these forums as an outlet, as they seem to be using others.

That would seem to me to be the concern of the Chair of the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, and what that Committee is tasked with.

Those seem to be just the facts of why the inquiry to Mr Newel is being made.

Aside from that, my own opinions, i don't see these "woke" issues, being promulgated by Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi. These are issues and decisions, individual companies make.

If gaming developers make decisions, as well as companies like Disney or others to add these issues into a game or business, there are issues having nothing to do with mandates from Democrats.

Depends on the game. SaintsRow wasn't exactly known for having lets say "Gentlemen discussions". So in that game trying to be all inclusive and doing away with the stuff that people like about the game is a bad thing to do.

People wanted a chaotic Grand Theft Auto and this was not it.

One problem with the moderation on Steam is, that its too focused on "naughty" words. Use a slur against someone and you will be banned within minutes. If you say things a bit more carefully you can basically advocate for genocide and nothing will happen to you because you didn't use words from the naughty-list.
Also im sure that a lot of these "woke=bad" threads at this point are activism. People on politically extreme websites probably organize too bomb "woke" games' discussions with hate threads. They seem to be way too frequent (whenever one is locked another one pops up within minutes) and they always contain the same set of words and expressions, just rearranged a little, so that it doesnt seem like a copy paste job.
