Big Picture Mode achievements stopped showing up for me

I have recently (as in a few months ago) hooked up my PC to my LG CX tv to game using Big Picture Mode almost exclusively. For the longest time, everything worked normally (Steam achievement notifications would pop up like you would expect). However, all of a sudden they just stopped popping up, yet I can still hear them go off.

The only thing I can think of that I personally did to modify my system since the time it was working normally to now is that I recently reinstalled my Windows 10 due to an activation issue it was having.

To troubleshoot, I have tried:

- Restarting Steam
- Restarting my PC
- Clearing Steam's download cache
- Disabling and re-enabling the "Scale text and icons to match monitor settings" under "Interface" settings (I thought maybe since my primary monitor is 1440p and the Big Picture display is a 4k TV, it might be screwing around with things)
- Messing around with the positioning of my secondary and third monitors in Windows Display settings (same reason as above)

I suppose it's possible one of the recent Steam Beta Client updates broke it (I'm running the beta)? Is anyone else dealing with this? It's just super weird to me that it was working fine for so long and now it's not. And to make matters worse, it's not exactly an easy thing to test/troubleshoot since you can only notice if it works or not if you unlock an achievement.

This is happening to me as well in big picture on a 4K LG tv, very frustrating 🥲

It's intermittent for me. Sometimes they appear, sometimes they don't. It doesn't seem to be session related.

Well, at least for me, reinstalling the Steam Client fixed the problem in the first session, but then it stopped working again.
For me, the achievements only appear if I opened the Overlay with the guide button at least once before receiving the achievements. It bothers me a lot.

Same. I think this goes for all notifications while in big picture. If I open the overlay, I see friend notifications but those don't show up while playing either.

I turned off the steam beta and this fixed it for me 🤷

damn, i was about to post the same thing. I don't have the beta turned on and haven't touched the notification settings in years.

the weird thing is that the notification still shows if i'm not in big picture mode.

This started happening for me a couple of days ago when using my Steam Link on my TV ... the only popup that's visible is one when I first connect saying that remote play has started. After that, any achievement or screenshot popup is not visible, although I hear the sound.

I had to lower my desktop resolution to play starfield because my rx6600 cant do 4k fsr 50%, now i just hear the achievement but dont see the pop up. Dont know if its a resolution or a Steam update. Im not in beta

I use a Samsung QLED 4k Tv and this is happening to me as well now.
Suspiciously it started happening not too long after I set my tvs resolution to 1440p to utilize 120 fps…

Did a test, difrent resolutions difrent resolution scales and nothing, the same with screenshots, it does the click noise but dont show the notification, last month was working fine, there must had been an update in between the 8/28 and now, wish i could rollback Steam updates to test
