Why don't some games contribute to the achievement stats?
I have 100%'d some silly cat based games, they don't contribute to achievement # nor do they show up in perfect games list. Why do they have this "Profile Features Limited"?

I thought maybe it was due to the game being free to play, but the second game below isn't free, so yeah, kinda weird, why Steam puts that limitation on some games.

Example two silly games;

Games have "Profile Features Limited" until they reach a specified sales metric. So free games will never contribute unless they have some kind of paid DLC. As for other games, they just have to sell enough copies to hit the metric. At that point they will start counting.

Free games CAN contribute without DLC if surpass certain other undisclosed metrics; it's known that certain levels of positive review activity count, though the exact thresholds are withheld to reduce manipulation.

One aside, however: Any game that has been banned from Steam will never count ANY metrics to one's account - achievement metrics, number of games in library, etc. - and their achievements will not be displayed on showcases.

There are many games that don't count towards the badge regardless if you "paid" for them or not.

1. Nearly all Free2Play games don't count. Unless you paid to make it a premium license. This is different than the free for a limited time games.

2. Games removed by Valve don't count. https://steam.madjoki.com/apps/banned

3. There are also games that are in the "Learning" phase...

4. And also games with "Profile Features Limited..."

Here is a list of some free games you can add to your count...

still doesn't make sense why they wouldn't allow these achievements to count.Steam should record the achievements regardless it's free or not. Why does it matter to them, people likes to collect and having these achievement makes it so you play on their platform because it feels rewarding. the time and effort is spent on their platform.

Because people literally make games that give 5k achievements for launching the game.

So they limited it to try and reduce games that literally are only made to boost achievement numbers.

Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop was never Profile Features Limited, and it didn't make any money until it added donations very recently.

Some games won't count as Steam has seen that the game is nothing more than a shovelware game used to inflate a users achievement count.
I would rather have 300 achievements I worked to earn, than have 10k that I did not work for.
