Common Sense Support ending - Resell me my Future Purchases as Remastered content
So let me get this straight, Steam users no longer support common sense and have been tricked by a business to spend spend spend on high priced games that eventually become incompatible with current operating systems.

I Think Common Sense is needed for Majority of the people who have lost and in the future will lose tons of money for video games and hardware purchases that are never fully enjoyed.

Remember in 10 or 20 years from now all of your current purchases will be rolled back over into the same content games and resold as Remastered content on the new/current OS

Thanks for taking the time to have a little common sense and understanding.

Game prices never stopped going up. What do you think DLC, microtransactions, season passes, $5 multiplayer pass, etc. were?

Every single one of their was a game price increase. There is a reason games have raked in record profits all this time. Yes, PROFITS, NOT REVENUE. Not buy into their lies.
Hate to break it to you, but game expansions and DLC have been around since forever.

Let's just do, one older PC game, shall we? Duke Nukem 3D. Life's a Beach, Duke it out in D.C., Nuclear Winter...

But wait, there's more! Mechwarrior 4 plus Inner Sphere and Clan Expansion packs!

I mean, I can go on and on, since they are sitting on my shelves right now, expansions being a thing since forever, and just now called DLC's.

Gaming is still the cheapest hobby per dollar to exist, period. Games just now going up after decades isn't really a surprise to me in the slightest.
Expansion Passes are not the same as microtransactions. Just look at how much money Genshin Impact made, and it released as a free to play game.

Games are cheaper than they have ever been.

Defender for the Atari 2600 was released with a new price point of $55 in 1982.

Thats $173.34 in today's dollars.

You people have no clue.
False.

it's actually quite correct, game prices have remained largely static, and have not kept up with inflation.

How do you figure? Show your work.

Or rather how often are you paying $170 for games games these days?

Regardless, games aren't expensive, maybe it's a matter of perception, but you have to have a pretty narrow view or narrow experience to really believe otherwise as far as I can see.

I don't spend my money on MTX. I just get the expansions as I want them. And while yes MTX do now exist, and some of it is nuts, doesn't affect me in the slightest for games I play as long as it's cosmetic. Let the devs get some extra money if they want and people are willing to pay for it.

Doesn't detract from the fact that games are still some of the cheapest entertainment for the price.

And isn't Genshin Impact Free to Play?

It is 100% factual. I was there. You have also offered no proof the contrary...because you cant.

Well, back in the day I had an Amiga (that was actually my first commercial computer system -- no C64 or something like that for me).

I no longer do, and I'm not playing those games anymore either.

On the other hand, PC games have a rather significant lifetime. Not too long ago, I was playing "The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky". Technically, the game was released in 2004, but it did not come to the west until 2014. Still, it's been available for 9 years. I don't remember whether I had owned the Amiga for 9 years... probably.

And it's not "the oldest" game, just one of the older ones I've played recently.

The thing is, we don't have "generations". Yes, games might have bugs that don't show until some future operating system version, but at least in theory all the old software still runs (Win16 excluded, though). But, "Playstation" games don't run on "Playstation 2", "Playstation 2" games don't run on "Playstation 3" etc. We don't have this.

And isn't Genshin Impact Free to Play?
Reading comprehension issues? The post you quoted literally says that it is free to play. It is still one of the most profitable games out there. They made back all their costs in like a month. Everything since then is pure profit.

Yep, thats one of my go too articles. There were literally $70 games in the 80's, when a dollar was worth far more then it is today.

Exactly, it's a free to play game. So they make all their money through MTX. I don't see your argument here on how that affects gaming prices. You didn't pay anything to play it.

You can't make this ♥♥♥♥ up, lol.

They are literally giving the game away, and still profitable from the MTX alone. This debunks any and all claims that games need to raise their bases prices to survive, especially games that are selling the core game, plus DLC, plus season passes, plus MTX, etc.

So, you want all games to be Free and then just earn their income from Microtransactions? Like... what?!

And ya do realize, wages have increased quite a bit since the 70's, so your comment in null?
