Question about "Regional price differences"
Aren't all game prices automatically turned into each currency on Steam's end, or can and do most developers set prices per currency?

Just wondering, because I legitimately don't understand how me buying a game for my american friends would be me buying it for a lower cost overall unless devs can say... put a game at 20 bucks USD, then for say... brazil, make it free to play or something, or only worth like 20 brazil dollars

It up to the devs, they can either use Steam suggested pricing or they can set their own.

Partners on Steam are responsible for setting and managing pricing for their products.

But seeing as Brazil decided to put extra taxes on your digital purchases, this is not going to be a good time for you for the foreseeable future.

The price difference between regions cannot be more than 10% when gifting.

Secondly the currency you pay with does not get converted into a different currency, as Valve charges you based on your store location set in the client, your payment method tied to a bank, which is linked to your home address.

I am from the UK and Valve cannot charge me more, nor less than the price advertise on the store because it is inclusive of value added tax, (vat).

So devs can infact set different pricing per currency type?

Yes. Valve only suggests prices.

Yuup
I can't gift my friends games through Steam because I'm from a different country
I understand the reasons but it's just annoying

Publishers set prices. If they were all forced to automatically use Valve's suggested pricing, games would be up to 30 to 40 percent cheaper where I live. =(
