Viruses are being downloaded with Steam games
In the past two weeks downloading a game from STEAM is like Russian Roulette, you don't know if that game will also have a VIRUS attached. My computer has caught THREE attached to Steam Games. so customer beware. I've been with Steam for years and never had this problem before, but now apparently, their game screening is defunct.

said dev would not, be smart enough to not, be infected in the first place? I`m still dumb as a brick bat about all this, but I`ll Swan if I aint gittin` smarter lol.
That guy's a dentist. Clearly he's too smart to fall for a ponzi scheme.
That person's a teacher surely they're too smart to fal;l for the Nigerian Prince scam.
That guys a CEO of a bank, surely he'd never get a virus from a porn site.

Devs can make mistakes like any of us. Which is why there are independent companies doing their own virus scanning now. Things happen, and things are the way they are now because they've been progressively eliminating the gaps .

Yes, this @ Start. Can`t make some one accept your info as de facto or de jure. In closing, maybe the OP believed his thoughts. Not a big deal, he weren`t trying to bulldog his hypothesis upon us lol. Nuttin` wrong with being wrong. I was wrong once, but I just thought I was:-) Cheers

stop downloading porn and cracked games from russian sites tho, yes steam is overbroken and laggy, but you will not get any virus from it (except Steam itself)

the viruses are on your pc, not from steam
Good call. So I don't look at naughty things on my gaming machines and my habits on pc are pretty few given that I am only 50% gamer (other 50% is just fairly annoyed). So I thought to test it anyway. And here we are.

Got a whole new rig, changed my connection password, installed a different antivirus, did not install the same games I'd been playing that I had trouble with. Can confirm Steam is the source of the issues, though saying the problem is the software itself is somewhat inaccurately expressed; saying that the games themselves give viruses is inaccurate if not downright false.

Check google for the articles on malware and viruses spread directly through dev accounts compromised by hackers ("Steam Store Spreads Malware After Hacker Hijacks Developer Accounts")

So, saying they're "from Steam" is accurate. Saying that "it can't happen" is not just inaccurate, it has been proven false a multitude of times in 2023. A more accurate statement than these is that

"Steam is a gaming distributor that has it's security compromised on a regular basis leading
to 77 thousand hacked accounts each MONTH - some of those accounts are devs and ....."other' staff which leads to the spread of viruses and other internet crimes"

Dunno ehy this reaction to people reporting something pretty commonly posted about here on steam forums. What reason is there to mock these experiences?
It loudly suggests either support/direct involvement with malicious Steam interactions, an active interest in Steam profits, or just taking joy in the off opportunity to put down and disregard other people. There's literally no reason for gamers not to support one another on this. ... I do recommend the disinfect part for porn gamers, though.

It's easy to brush this stuff off until it happens to you. Stay safe, stay smart, and stick together.

If there's an issue with a glitch in a game, then that's the game publishers legal responsibility. not Steam's.

What.. do you expect them to literally comb through the source code of every game. Mane even nintendo couldn't do that when they literally puublished every game for their system.

Software will generally have glitches and explouits, especially if it involves any sort of network communication. That's a given. It's why Windows keeps putting out updates.
who says I'm talking about a glitch? there are "games" on steam that allow you to just run random code in them due to their design... and there aren't really any sort of checks in place as to if that code is malicious or not...
NICE RESPONDS
