No Notification for Closed Beta Game.

I was signed up for The Finals but got no Notification from Steam. And as I don't look at my E-Mails regulary I only today knew about the Closed Beta. But it ends today. Or rather is ending because I had no time to try it out.

I was waiting for it forever... you ruined everything.

I think you apply for closed beta buy you still need to be accepted for it. I know I was up in closed beta and for Overwatch and SC2 and D3 (yes I had friend in Blizz) but you need to be approved for it...

I literally got accepted on the 16th - I had the Email. It told me to just download it.
I was also in Overwatch one as well. Don't remind me of the good days.

and you ...blame 'them' ... because You didin't have the time to play it / or you didin't pay much attention to the invitation ...

What has any of this to do with Steam?

It isnt on Valve to tell you that youre ina beta for some game they dont make.

Also do not forget that earth has different time zones........ it could be 12h at your place and 18h at their place.....

If you signed up then why didn't you check the dates along with the notification procedure? If you want something for free then you're expected to give something back i.e your basic attention.

The game has probably had about 3 beta phases in the last couple of months anyway so there's been plenty of opportunities to jump in anyway.

Alright people. I get it that all of you hang around on this site in every corner reading every tiny bit and so on.

I signed up for it 2 Months ago and didnt check on the game until then.

I expect there to be a steam notification. Just like games on wishlist going on sale. Its not that hard.

I dont give a penny about not reading my mail. Most stuff in there is spam / YouTube or Bills. I have no major reason to check them on a daily basis as Im not expecting some 1 to mail me.

Considering the fact that I dont even browse steam every day I dont understand why everyones so fking hostile.

Because you set a stupid expectation and were disappointed by it AND youre blaming "Steam" when Valve doesnt even make the game.

Blame the developer, not Steam. Plenty of games show up on Steam Notifications for betas, if the developers choose to announce it. It's not Steam's responsibility for you forgetting either way.

There is no notification available on the Steam API to alert users to being granted access to a private beta designed by the developer/publisher and this probably wont change because it's not needed or widely adopted. You can follow the game for the latest alerts but the onus is on the user that they can demonstrate basic consideration to the process.

After all, the developers have allowed you access to their game and you haven't supported it or kept up with the latest information so why should you be entitled to free private access when you offer absolutely nothing and your place can go to someone else?
