Windows 3.1 Support Ending - Refunding my Entire Library?
So let me get this straight, my games that run fine on Windows 3.1 I can no longer access past a certain point? If this is the case I will be talking to my bank and refunding my entire games library. I have zero interest in upgrading my hardware or Operating system.

Does this not violate consumer or anti-trust laws?

When I started using Steam I never agreed for them to control what hardware and operating system I can use, especially considering all of the games I play support Windows 3.1.

That's exactly how they sound.

On the other hand you could have picked W98 it really was supported by Steam.
its ok... steam will make a legacy program...

steam want you to keep on spending half your wage in games each month...

thank you for patronage..... dont fall for window 9.65 user
propaganda brainwashing... you stick with 3.1 its the bestests

live long and prosper :cozyspaceengineersb:
Back when Steam first started supporting Mac I tried digging out my old System7 machine looking for the installer. Only found OSX's installer yet I think their system requirements said something like "any Mac". They should have worded it more carefully.
So for as old as Windows 7 is, ~14 years old. If you go back to when Steam launched in 2003, and then go back 14 years to 1989, Windows 3.0 wasn't even released yet. And Windows 3.1 wouldn't be released until 1992. So complaining about Windows 2.1 support ending would be more fitting, in my opinion.

I enjoy the delightful absurdity.

I was running Steam under Windows 3.1 using Win32s TYVM.

I just hope they don't discontinue the OS/2 version of Steam.

I love how you literally just copy and pasted that one thread that has so much traffic for some reason and switched it to 3.1. It really does get the point across that the times will leave anyone who refuses to progress with technology behind. The funny thing those same people will say oh no it's only ridiculous that they're dropping 7, it's perfectly rational that everything before 7 isn't being supported.

Without Windows 2.1, there would never be 3.1 or 3.11 versions.

Without the broken Windows ME and Windows NT, there never would be such a successful Windows 2000. :)

Without Windows XP & ugly/buggy Vista, we would not ever have Windows 7.

Windows 12 I hope is not coming in next years.
Windows 11 is quite broken as is. :)

Your post history is public and GTAV, Batman Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3 do not support Windows 3.1.

You could always just use Linux with Proton/WINE.
Windows 3.1????? WTF? Is that some kind of weird joke? I had that what - 25+ years ago. I can not believe anyone is still using it. That is especially when you consider the minimum system and graphics requirements for modern games. Windows 3.1 was in use back in the day when a 286 microprocessor was hot stuff. LOL!

Just wanted to offer this, Windows 2000 came out before Windows ME, there was literally no reason for ME to exist.
