Every night, same time, everywhere: Steam Disconnects

I play games with a friend of mine in the UK. Everty evening around 6pm EST, the tag at the bottom shows 'no connection' and Steam disconnects. This happens for my friend as well. We have tried everything we could to get this to stop happening, but literally like clockwork, it happens every single day at around 6pm.

Online sites that track Steams connectivity during these times says it's offline. I have no issue with playing any games not involving Steam, or connecting to other websites. My router is fine, and my bandwidth isn't changing. This happens to my friend in the UK as well, so as far as I know, it's a worldwide occurance.

Does anyone know what is actually going on, and why? Should I just avoid playing games at that hour? Is it maintenance? Or has no one been servicing the servers that Steam uses and the tangle of wires, dust and overheated materials is just shutting down each day at that time?

Every night? Or just Tuesday nights?

Because the brief outage we just had was the weekly Tuesday night server maintenance. That's happened every Tuesday at about this time for years.

Every. Single. Night.
It drives me crazy because me and my friend usually get to play at this time, and right on schedule, we can't talk, text or play games anymore. It usually ends our gaming for the day. :(

Same here. Almost every single day at 6pm EST. When the time changes it happens at 7pm. Super annoying as it kicks me out of games when it happens not all games but enough to make me angry.
