Being loyal to any multi-billion corporation is an error since it gives that multi-billion dollar corporation licence to walk all over you.
Anyway, in my case I really liked the old pre-2019 library interface. When Valve trashed the old spreadsheet interface for "shelves" I just switched to using Gog Galaxy 2 as my library instead. However, the Steam integration is community-based and not official so it craps the bed on a very frequent basis so I try to buy from a non-Steam store that works well with Galaxy 2 at every opportunity. Of the 425 games I have, 187 are on Steam, 91 are on Epic, 125 on Gog, and a few that are sold independently (Vintage Story, Starsector etc).
I could list all the games I purchased on Epic, but I'm not going to. Epics alright but their store interface is hot garbage.
Secondly i deleted my Epic account due to their anti-consumer practice of exclusives.
It's funny that you think Steam doesn't have exclusives
Where else can I buy Tekken 7, for example?
The 2nd dumb issue, they ignore what people asking for relogin on library plugs, when a library sync breaks, you can't sync, and it just keeps syncing when you launch for couple minutes which is dumb, and when want to fix it, only option to fixing it, is wiping the library, then login to sync all over again, which is dumb, so instead of reverifying the login, they won't give that option for gods know why, and this been issue for years.
Anyways the best library manager I can recommend is playnite, it support library syncing, it gives you way more options, and control, even has controller support if like couch support, but also nothing breaks unlike Gog client, no need to wipe library, can just relog, and fixes the issue that simple. Also playnite is portable, also support more things than Gog from customized the client, to everything else, as gog client can only changes somethings so it simple enough, but playnite more like advanced power user library giving you a lot the things you ever want really.
The biggest advantage of GOG is not being forced to use a launcher...
Buying games on other digital storefronts or even brick and mortar is not being disloyal to any one or any thing, least of all Steam. I shop where I want and when I want for no other reason than the place I go to has the product I want for the price I want to pay for it. Simple as.
I have bought dozens of games from EGS, GoG, WildTangent, and physical stores and will continue to do so as it suits my fancy. Of course I will also continue to buy from Steam. End of story.
A lot of similar features with other services, like with Apple's* iCloud and/or AppStore purchase sharing or Spotify, has also influenced decisions like that for me and my family.
And it makes sense why, because it's like free contingency on old purchases.
Add to this, a Steam Deck that I can now access shared games from in even more places, and it only becomes harder to want to escape that Valve service shell, for as scary as that is to think about.
However, that doesn't mean that I'm not open to branching out obviously, but I think it is going to take gradually more effort on Epic's part, especially with non-Windows OSes, to get me there.

* Nowadays I actually hate Apple to the core for their anti-repair scheming; though trying to find a mobile phone maker that doesn't try to just copy Apple's way of things is as much of a futile struggle, it seems.
Valve does NOT have exclusives on Steam because they do NOT PAY for games to come to their platform. I can of course list the games Epic PAID for to be exclusives. Here are a couple of examples, Metro Exodus, The Outer Worlds, Kingdom Hearts, Phoenix Point.
Of course if you want an up to date list of Epic paid for exclusives, plus those still to come to Epic as exclusives.

Secondly ask Bandai Namco (developer, publisher) why it is NOT on other PC platforms as they are the ones who CHOSE to put it on Steam of their own freewill.
And finally you can buy Tekken 7 on Xbox or Playstation.
As a sidenote you can ask Swen Vincke why Baldur's Gate 3 was not on Epic in Early Access nor as a Release Title on Epic. You can also ask him if Valve (Steam), CDPR (GOG), Apple (Mac) and Sony (PS5) paid him to have it on their platforms.
Lol. Only a fool would refuse to shop outside of Steam over some perceived need to be loyal to a company that has never really cared about its customers.
I buy on Epic for the same reason I buy on Steam: no other choice.
Which means, I rarely buy on either. Last game I bought on Epic, I bought because it's the ONLY store selling the game in my country. Publisher didn't bother releasing console versions, and with "foreign interests" ruining our exchange rate, importing of any kind is far too expensive.
I don't even bother with Steam sales anymore. Why would I when, even discounted, I can buy the same game brand new for half the price from a local store on console. Only exception would be first person shooters, but I haven't played one of those in years.
I dont even bother collecting "free" from them.
