Steam won't open after installing new RAM
Hi, my Steam won't open after installing new RAM. Tried most common solutions, rebooting, reinstalling steam after completely wiping it from my system, running in different compatibility mode etc. It just won't run.
Is it possible this is happening because of the new RAM? Or are there any other fixes that might help? Don't really want to reinstall Windows, but I will if I have to.

Don't know if Microsoft still does it but there was a time when if a PC's hardware changed too much that MS figured it was a new PC and they'd disable the license for windows. Might be what's goin' on. A quick call to MS customer support could eliminate the RAM change as the issue.

That happened to someone I know, but I assumed it was just because they switched MoBos (among many other parts) while using an OEM license of Win 10. It didn't happen to me when I swapped CPUs on my last computer, but I was also using a retail license of Win 10.

That'll cause an issuie with windows but it won't trigger for something as minor as a ram change. You'd need to swap something like the cpu or mobo.

OP. It maybe that you need to remove and reseat your ram.

Are you sure you have the RAM in the correct slots? And have you tried a BIOS update?
Was wondering if you ever found a fix??

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
