Please can the back button actually go back?
Pretty much the title.

Since the last update back no longer goes back.
In forums if you hit the back button you are immediately dropped back to store or your home library page.
Could we please RETURN it to it's proper function as a BACK one page/step function like every other browser on the planet and as Steam was until the last update?

It sucks having to navigate back to the forum then back down the discussion tree to get back to where you were when you should be able to just hit the back button when you are done in a post or topic.

Oddly I just discovered.
If you go to a game discussion and go a few layers deep into a sub-forum or post.
Go to Community at the top and go to Home and then go to any Steam forum.
Hit the back button.
It'll function as a proper back button and you can back up all the way to your game forum.
From that point it'll work as a proper back button, or seems to, until you change games.
Then the issue returns and the back button will always return you to the game home page regardless of what forum or post or layer you were in.
Repeating the process will then make it work properly in that forum as well, until, you change games again.

The back button certainly isn't behaving correctly, but I have a workaround where you won't lose your place.
Ctrl-click to open the target in a new Steam Browser tab. Maybe do that for lots of items on the list you're trying to review. Then take a glance at the Steam Browser and just examine, do whatever you need and close each tab when done.

The back button is just the beginning of the new UI's problems. Have you noticed how bad the notifications page is? They were told in the beta and its still horrible.

I was aware of opening new tabs but even in those with nearly 30 years of using a back button for a BACK button, it's incredibly hard not to hit the back button to go back when I want to go back.

Just after losing my place for the 50th time in troubleshooting forums trying to help people, or just reading guides and stuff and what-not it gets super annoying; especially as I often bounce back-and-forth with copy/paste lines of text.

Yeah not a fan of the new notifications thing either but whatever.

At least the discovery queue not working seems to have fixed itself again.
